In the event a licensed O365 user is suddenly unable to edit Excel sheets or data on other Microsoft applications, it may be necessary to remove corrupt files from the ~/Library folder on the device.
After first verifying the account in question has an active O365 license, follow these steps to remove potentially corrupt files.
1. Launch Excel or the app that's having issues and choose Sign Out. Then force quit the application.
2. In the Finder, click on the Go menu and choose Go to Folder.
3. In the box, type ~/Library
4. Click on the Group Containers folder.
5. Locate the following three files/folders and drag them to the Trash:
UBF8T346G9.ms
UBF8T346G9.Office
UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost
6. Empty the Trash and launch an Office application to check if you can now edit documents. Ensure the user is signed in and there is not "Activate" button present.
*If "Activate" button is present, simply have the user sign into their work email once more and this will activate the product.
