Problem: Some users have reported a bug with Google Chrome while using Google Meet to screen share on MacOS devices. The issue seems to be related to signing into two separate Chrome profiles simultaneously, which causes the Screen Sharing feature to malfunction.
Cause: The exact cause of the bug is not yet known, but it is likely due to a conflict between the two Chrome profiles and the permissions granted to each of them.
Solution: The following steps should resolve the issue:
1. Open the System Preferences on your MacOS device.
2. Click on Security & Privacy and then select the Privacy tab.
3. Scroll down and click on Screen Recording.
4. Find Google Chrome and click the minus sign: "-"
5. Force quit Google Chrome by right-clicking and selecting "Quit". This ensures all profile instances of Chrome are closed out.
6. Manually add Google Chrome back to the Screen Recording section within the Security & Privacy settings.
*Note: Do this even if "Google Chrome" is already listed in the Screen Recording section. Simply clicking "+" on Google Chrome won't be enough.
7. Open Google Chrome to the profile you mostly use for screen sharing
